The Air Conditioning Unit (ACU) is purpose-built for the interior layout of the BMP-3, delivering powerful airflow and consistent cooling across all cabin zones. Its advanced air distribution system incorporates 13 adjustable vents for uniform air circulation, while a three-stage filtration cassette ensures the removal of dust, particulates, and contaminants, supporting a clean and healthy interior environment. Special insulation stabilizes temperatures and reduces thermal gain, even in extreme heat. User-friendly control panels allow easy management of fan speeds and temperature settings, while safety mechanisms such as automatic shutdown features ensure uninterrupted and secure operation. Designed for fast installation and minimal maintenance, the ACU supports quick access and servicing by just two personnel.
The Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) is engineered to operate independently from the vehicle’s main systems, ensuring that cooling performance is maintained without affecting mission-critical functionality. Powered by a customized 4-cycle diesel engine, the APU delivers a maximum cooling capacity of 40,945 BTU/h (12 kW) with a motor airflow of 1,200 m³/h. It utilizes R-134a refrigerant and operates reliably across a wide temperature range from -10°C to 58°C. All core elements—including compressors, alternators, condensers, fans, and coolant filters—have been optimized to work within tight spatial constraints while ensuring maximum thermal efficiency and safety.
Every aspect of the MLT-VAC-40Se has been developed with operational effectiveness and long-term reliability in mind. The system’s modular design simplifies integration and supports a streamlined maintenance process. Its rugged construction using military-grade hoses, cables, and components ensures long-lasting performance under harsh battlefield conditions. Designed exclusively for the BMP-3 yet adaptable to similar armoured platforms, the MLT-VAC-40Se offers a robust, field-tested climate control solution that enhances crew survivability and equipment protection in the most demanding environments.
