Over the next three to five years, the defence industry is expected to move even further toward highly reliable integrated electronic and electro-optical systems. For MILTECH, strategic priorities include electro-optical sensor technologies and surveillance solutions, embedded electronics for demanding applications, and the capability to integrate complex subsystems into modern defence platforms.
At the same time, the company participates as a subcontractor in international programmes, collaborating with leading organisations in the sector, while systematically developing partnerships with Greek companies to strengthen the domestic industrial base. Key investments are focused on expanding R&D activities, modernising production capabilities and developing highly specialised human capital.
At an industry level, the factor that will determine the transition from isolated success stories to a stable industrial base is the predictability and continuity of project cycles. Defence manufacturing requires long-term investments in infrastructure, certifications, specialised equipment and skilled personnel. When a steady pipeline of projects exists, companies can plan long term, scale up production and invest consistently in technology and talent. Without such continuity, development remains fragmented and the ability to participate in larger and more complex international programmes is inevitably limited.
MILTECH has been active since 1997, operates with internationally certified quality processes and currently employs around 200 people, having doubled its workforce over the past three years. The company aims to grow further to approximately 500 employees by 2030, while continuing to strengthen its technological and manufacturing capabilities.
